“Wedding” at World Golf Hall of Fame
Why is “Wedding” at World Golf Hall of Fame in parenthesis? It’s because this wedding was not really a wedding at all. Kwame and Kenyana had eloped a year before, to the day, with just their parents present. Not even their wedding party knew that they were already married, much less the rest of their guests. While both the bride and the groom were getting ready, they had their wedding party watch a video they had made where it showed their original ceremony and told them that they were all their for the first anniversary celebration instead. All throughout the ceremony and the reception there were hidden hints that they had been married the year before. Dates on napkins that had the date with 2016, saying “I do… again” during the ceremony, and other little things like that. Then during the reception they spilled their secret to all their guests. No one saw it coming… Kwame and Kenyana did such a good job at keeping it hidden. So cool.
They got married at the gorgeous World Golf Hall of Fame in St Augustine out on their back patio that has the coolest pond with a map of the world on it that you can only really get the full effect of from a bird’s eye view. One of the things Kenyana wanted most was a shot of her walking down the isle from up on the balcony of the museum, which ended up being one of my favorite shots of the day. So pretty. Once the wedding was over, we went upstairs for their reception in the museum. Seriously one of the coolest wedding venues ever. Guests got to browse the legendary golf players featured, putt on their indoor greens, and watch videos of different moments in golf history during cocktail hour and then into their event room for the reception. They had the most beautiful details and the prettiest dessert table ever! I loved it all so much!
