I’m slowly but surely making my way through some of my weddings from this year. Do I still have 13+ left to blog? I do. ???? Not to mention the giant list of engagement and portrait sessions too. Ok, New Years goal! Catch up on blogging… though I’m sure that’s been my goal for the past several years. lol
Ashley and Aaron’s wedding at Camp Retreat in Baker, FL was just gorgeous. It was my first time photographing at Camp Retreat and it was beautiful! The property that this barn venue is located on is stunning with it’s hills (or they’re hills for being in Florida), fields and the lake with an impressive Oak tree that Ashley and Aaron had their ceremony under. The weather was perfect for a May wedding and could not have gone better. Camp Retreat has two houses/cabins on property for the bride and the groom to get ready in… both facing the same pond. The back room is ideal for makeup and for getting ready in with it’s walls of windows letting in the most beautiful light for getting ready photos.
Once everyone was ready and friends and family headed to the barn, Ashley and Aaron chose to do a first look so that we could get wedding party and family photos done before the wedding, which is perfect because spending cocktail hour with their guests was important to them. Ashley’s sister officiated their wedding, making the ceremony so heartfelt and special. Then we partied the night away, eating some of the best reception food I’ve ever had (Jim and Nick’s YUM!) and some awesome dancing shots.
Ashley and Aaron, thank you so much for having me there to document your first day as husband and wife. It was an incredible day.
