Downtown Pensacola and Pensacola Beach kinda go together for an engagement session like PB&J or like Popcorn with Salt & Parmesan Cheese (my fave). Pensacola has such a gorgeous downtown area with their parks, Seville Quarter, and Palafox Street. It’s the perfect start for an engagement session, especially if you want to have a couple outfit changes and start the photos wearing something a little dressier. Pensacola Beach is usually the next/last stop for engagement photos. Our beaches are so beautiful and it’s so easy to relax and get a little more playful that choosing to end our time here is super popular. I love these two locations and you’ll see exactly why with Liz and Chris’s engagement photos. I couldn’t have asked for a more gorgeous couple or day.
How did you two meet?
“We met the first day of class freshman year of college at Mississippi State University. Funny story– the class we met in was called “Day One”. We hit it off right away because we were both from close coastal areas (Mobile and Gulf Breeze). We were fast friends and both knew pretty early on that we were meant to be together.”
“Our first date was a Chi Omega “My Tie” date party in 2013 at Mississippi State University. “My Tie” is a blind date event Chi O does where a friend picks your date and the only clue you get of who it could be is the guy’s tie. The night of the date party, the guy comes and has to find his “tie” and date! I was obviously hoping it was Chris the whole time. :)”
“I proposed to Liz on her neighborhood dock in Gulf Breeze. I was able to surprise Liz by getting her best friend to invite her to her law school graduation party supposedly happening that night in Pensacola. After we got ready for the party, we had some planned “time to kill”, so I got Liz to walk on the dock with me before we “left”. All of our friends were waiting in the next neighborhood over, and when we left for the dock they all came over to be there to surprise Liz when we got back. It was a great success, and she was beyond surprised to see all of her friends and family there to celebrate us. She only happy cried 3 times the next morning. :)” – Chris
What is your favorite date you’ve been on?
“We spent a day in New Orleans together. We have each been there so many times, but never just the two of us. We went to fun bars/shops, ate great food for lunch/dinner, and topped it off with going to a Pelicans basketball game. New Orleans means a lot to us because that is where a lot of Chris’s family lives.”
What is your favorite thing about each other?
Chris: I love how Liz always builds me up no what the circumstances are, and always knows how to cheer me up after a long day.
Liz: Chris is the most positive breath of fresh air to me. He makes everything so fun and simple! He keeps me grounded and focused on what is really important in this crazy life.
