I love getting to travel with my couples to photograph their wedding and this wedding was a dream at Altos de Chavon! I had the opportunity to leave the US with Estefania and Ryan and head to the Dominican Republic for their destination wedding at Casa de Campo (in La Romana) and it was incredible!
Cayden went with me and it was super cool because it was his first trip out of the country. (He has a serious travel bug) We explored, played soccer on the beach… leave it to him to find a way to play no matter where he goes, and had a wonderful time hanging out with Estefania, Ryan, and all their friends and family at the welcome dinner and on their wedding day.
Estefania and Ryan love to travel together and their wedding reflected everything they love and was perfectly them. They have been to Casa de Campo a handful of times together, so it was fitting that this is where they chose for their wedding. They love Altos de Chavon and the view of the river and decided to have their ceremony right there.
They couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. It ha d rained at some point every single day we were there before their wedding and poured the day before, but on their wedding day, not a single drop. They had the most beautiful weather (despite being pretty hot… but come on, it’s the Carribean at the end of summer) all day long.
Since they were having friends and family attending from 7 different countries and all flying in, they decided to give them a wedding they would never forget. From a coconut cart at the ceremony, to fireworks during their first dance, a band to serenade them at dinner, a cigar roller, and ending the night with Hora Loca…. it was one surprise after the other, making a pretty epic way to celebrate getting to marry your best friend.

Best first look EVER! Every time they looked at each other, they just lost it!!
After their first look, we took some photos around the ampitheater in Altos de Chavon. Gorgeous!!!
In case you don’t know what Hora Loca is, THIS is Hora Loca. (It translates to Crazy Hour)
